Bowline

The name bowline is derived from bow line. This knot is used to make a fixed (non-slip) loop in the end of a rope. The Bowline is typically taught using a "rabbit and hole" narrative.


(1) make an overhand loop in the standing end of the rope (2) bring the rabbit out of the hole and around the tree (3) and back down the hole.
