| We will be biking or hiking the 11-mile loop at Cades Cove that follows many of the curves and courses that settlers forged years ago (people getting in shape for Philmont may prefer to hike – we will pack our lunch with us to eat on the trail). Cades Cove is a lush valley surrounded by mountains and one of the most popular destinations in the Great Smokies. Along the way you will likely come upon wildlife, such as the white tail deer, wild turkey, ground hog and an occasional black bear. The Cove takes visitors into another time, experiencing heritage in each building and wilderness around every turn. We will stop for lunch Sun. on the return trip home. Returning approx. 1:30 PM. |
